It's warming up, which means music festival season is almost here! Today I'm talking about a few of my favorite looks and pieces for putting together the perfect festival outfit. My best tricks are to keep it flowy and cool without being too plain. Must haves are a statement bag and some light accessories to keep things interesting.
FESTIVAL OUTFIT INSPO
It's almost festival season, which means it's time to find your perfect look. Whether it's boho, eclectic, or southern, here's my favorite pieces to put together your festival outfit.
SHEER & LACE
Sheer & lace pieces are perfect for frolicking around in that hot sun. They add interest without adding too many layers. I'm loving layering crop tops with lace kimonos and wearing a mesh tank over a fun bra. Here are some of my favorite sheer tops and layers, plus ideas for what to wear under them:
+ WHAT TO WEAR UNDER IT
Bralettes or crop-top bras paired with high waisted bikini bottoms are my go-to. They help make sure your look doesn't feel like a bikini-coverup combo. You can use these pieces to add pops of color to your black or white sheer piece.
CROP TOPS & TANKS
A crop top with shorts is probably my favorite festival look. It's casual and cool, but doesn't necessarily have to be simple.
+ SHORTS TO WEAR WITH THEM
Denim cut-offs are the go-to. They pair perfect with boots for a country festival or florals for a more boho vibe, but if you'd like to change it up, here's a few pairs to keep things interesting.
Fun, flowy, and an all-in-one. Ropers are ideal if you want to keep it simple without looking plain. Here are my top picks for rocking out in a romper:
A sidebag or backpack is a must for lugging around water, makeup for touchups, or other fun* stuff. It's also an iconic festival statement piece. If you want to rock the classic fanny pack, I'd go with this one. Otherwise, here's my lineup of backpacks and side bags to pack:
+ Other Accessories
Keep it simple with a couple stacked chokers or go all out with fringe earrings. Either way, here are my favorite accessories for making a statement.
ABOUT THIS OUTFIT
I warmed this look up a little for the spring weather with these flowy pants, but this choker tee and fringe lace kimomo would also pair perfectly with a pair of denim cut-offs. This top is sold out online, but there might be a few left in store at Express. This graphic is perfect since it lists music genres, but you can still get the same look from the one linked below.
I love the way these block heels look with these pants, but I'd recommend swapping them for booties or strappy sandals for a day at a festival. Time to do some shopping:
