Downtown Summerlin shopping
Vegas boasts some of the best shopping venues in the US, but not all the prime shopping destinations are located on the strip. I popped into Downtown Summerlin for a little retail therapy — and to find an adorable outfit — before our weekend out in Vegas.
The area is absolutely gorgeous, with sidewalks to stroll, a great roundup of shops, and plenty of options to grab a little treat. They have just about all of my favorite stores — plus a few new ones which don't have a Denver location that I got to explore.
A few tips for a successful Vegas shopping trip
1 GO FOR THE WOW PIECE
If there's any place that can push you out of your comfort zone and into something more exciting, it's Vegas. Don't be afraid to try new pieces that you might not normally think would work. Look for your "wow" piece — that piece that makes you feel gorgeous, fits perfectly, and is maybe a little unique or a little more bold than your usual go-to style.
2 KEEP IT COOL
Vegas offers some serious sunshine which means you'll probably be looking for pieces that keep you cool or offer some great sun protection — like an adorable wide-brimmed hat, some sunnies, or a sheer top that is breezy but gives you a little shade from the sun.
3 TRANSITION PIECES
From a day out and about exploring Vegas, to a glamorous night out — transition pieces are an essential for dressing up that day look and still allowing all your new purchases to come back with you in your weekend carry-on. Look for pieces that can be easily dressed up from your all day #OOTD to a stunning evening look.
An outfit from lilyful
Icould seriously build my whole summer wardrobe from this boutique. They have the cutest summer styles with flowy cuts, fun prints, and a great mix of everyday and statement pieces. Their jumpsuit selection was absolutely on point and I found more than a few favorites.
Their gorgeously curated selection seriously had something for every style — whether it was bold patterns (my fave) or more minimal styles with a simple elegance. Safe to say I'll be shopping this new favorite online until I can make it back to the Downtown Summerlin shop.
a sweet treat at IT'SUGAR
My eyes still light up and get wide when I see a candy store. Not only have I still not been able to shake my childhood sweet tooth, something about all the fun colors is just too darn cheerful to pass up.
The highlight of all the candy options for me were the giant candy boxes — which are just super fun! I was also so excited to discover the box of all-pink starburst - no more digging around in the bag to find my favorite flavor. Of course, I had to snag a multi-colored lollipop as a treat - but not without a few photos first. I let my inner child run free and re-lived some sweet childhood faves that I hadn't seen in a while.
Not only will the candy shop be a frequent stop for my toddler - once she learns what it is, IT'SUGAR is also a cute place to snag a fun gift. They had a few different knick-knacks to bring a smile to someone's face in addition to the vast candy selection and then of course some great go-to's for the candy lover.
