You might be going on a V-Day date with your person, or maybe you have plans with your girls for Galentines, but if you're anything like me, you spend Valentine's swept off your feet. Mostly by the chocolate and flowers and a little bit by the romance. Whether you're half of a couple or flying solo this Valentine's Day, practicing a little self-love this heart season is a little effort that can go a long way.
Valentine's is most known for a romantic night out with your significant other, but on a larger scale, it's about celebrating all the relationships in your life. This focus on relationships sometimes has an unexpected side affect of leading you to assess their health and longevity (or lack thereof), which might especially be the case if you had some high hopes or V-Day expectations that weren't fulfilled.
It's a pretty good idea to take one solid day a year to focus on all people you love in your life, see how much your relationship has grown, and take stock of where you need to improve or maybe even move on. A big part of doing all this thinking about relationships is looking at your part in them. While it's a great plan to make relationship resolutions together and talk about what you can both do better, before you can do this you have to step back a little.
You can't assess your satisfaction with a relationship without looking at how satisfied you are with yourself. Because if you are unhappy being you and don't love yourself, your relationships will get challenging because you'll start relying on the other person to fill that void or fix that unhappiness for you.
Take a little time this V-Day to not only celebrate the good relationships in your life and assess the rocky ones, but also to show yourself a little self-love and appreciation. Make a Valentine's Day resolution to be consistent about showing yourself some love and taking time to do things for yourself so that you're at 100%. That way you are bringing your best you into each and every relationship you've got. My best tips to do this are a spa day, taking yourself on a date to do something you love, or maybe just a long guilt-free nap.

So, let's talk about this outfit
Denver has been so springy and warm recently, that it's been easy to get away with shorts and no sleeves during the day. If you're somewhere a little warmer, this might be what you need for a Valentine's Day look.
I'm in love with this high-low lace skirt. It's so fun and flirty and is perfect for when I can't choose between lengths. This blush top has the best ribbon-width sparkle at the top and is so fun and flowy, plus a super cute gentle v-neckline. I'm a big fan of layering straps, so I added a hot pink bra for a pop of color. Some black and white peep toes to top it off, and this look is ready for pretty much any sunny day activity.
These shoes and skirt are sold out, but I've linked some similar styles I'm in love with plus this exact top below.
