Meet the Never Skip Brunch Boutique!!

816 1056 NEVER SKIP BRUNCH by Cara Newhart

I launched a Boutique! I‘m seriously so excited! Never Skip Brunch is now more than a fashion and lifestyle blog and I’m more than an influencer….I’m a boutique owner. Today I’m dishing all about the new SHOP + sharing a little bit of the motivation behind my decision!  First, let me tell you about the shop! So, I’ve had the apparel line for a while with leggings and tee’s I designed myself. While many of you LOVED them and they were doing pretty well, it was always just kind of a tab on the blog that sometimes felt like it wasn’t getting the attention it deserved. I decided to re-launch the line, but this time as a whole boutique and move it to its own sub-domain at shop.neverskipbrunch.com. The Never Skip Brunch boutique provides women’s apparel, accessories, and some select home goods. I carefully curate pieces I know you all will love that will be a perfect fit for your style. Not only do I intentionally pick products from amazing vendors to bring to you. I’ve also designed and created many of the products myself, like the leggings, mugs, pillows, and soon to launch candles & sugar scrubbies! You can find the shop HERE and on…

Fall fashion at Larimer Square – an adorable outfit + Sept. fashion show

816 1056 NEVER SKIP BRUNCH by Cara Newhart

fall fashion at Larimer Square One of my favorite spots in Denver is Larimer Square. I remember when I first moved here and stumbled upon this iconic Denver block — I knew it would be one of my go-to's. From grabbing dinner at Ocean Prime or drinks at one of the many adorable spots, to shopping some of my favorite local shops like Hailee Grace and AILLEA, I love stopping by for an outing under the adorable string lights. I stopped in to style a whole outfit using just pieces from Larimer Square retailers to show off some of my favorites. There are seriously so many adorable shops! Today we're talking outfit details, plus I'm sharing a little about the Runway Show they have coming up at the end of this month which we can attend together! Mark your calendar for Sept 27th so we can meet up, then check out my Larimer Square #OOTD.   larimer square Fall Fashion Show 2018! I just got back from New York Fashion Week, and while you all loved following along on my adventure, many of you found yourselves wishing you were at the fashion shows with me. The good news? We've got a fun show coming…

Mono-Dramatic: Styling just one hue head to toe

816 1056 NEVER SKIP BRUNCH by Cara Newhart

styling a Monochromatic look As a color and prints enthusiast, I’m always flaunting bright colors, a fun pattern, or a combination of the two. Usually, people either love it, or give me a response like, “That looks so great on you, but I could never pull it off.” Which I get — when you wear an eye-catching look, in some ways you are asking for attention and if you’d rather blend in a little or just aren’t feeling confident that day, then a loud outfit might not be your jam. But that doesn’t mean you cant still wear fun colors in a chic and more streamlined way. The other day someone asked me, “Do you ever just wear one color?” A valid question in response to my personal style — And yes, I’m a huge fan of wearing just one color when it comes to monochromatic looks — a.k.a. the way to wear color in a less loud, more sleek look. The truth is you can still create a dynamic and dramatic look using just one color or hue. psst… if you have a Monochromatic look to share, check out the Style Challenge at the bottom of this post to get a shoutout…

How to build your wardrobe in 5 Steps + classic pieces every girl needs

816 1056 NEVER SKIP BRUNCH by Cara Newhart

building your perfect wardrobe Contrary to what our favorite fashion makeover shows tell us, a great wardrobe isn’t built in a day. While you can totally re-build your wardrobe in a pinch if it’s super outdated, a great wardrobe takes time to accumulate and tweak to fit your personal style.  Now, we already dove deep into finding your personal style with these 10 questions, but once you’ve really defined you style, your closet is probably going to need a little — or a lot — of work to reflect that. You might be right there with me in that mid-20’s limbo where our college looks are beginning to feel a little like we’ve outgrown them, but we aren’t totally sure how to build a big-girl wardrobe that doesn’t feel, well, too old. Today we’re diving into how to transition your wardrobe through your 20’s — from your college years to your 30’s and beyond by doing a little planning and purging. However, I do want to make one important distinction first. Is your wardrobe the same as your closet? I  say no. Your closet is the place where your clothes live. It’s also the place we store a lot more than that: memories in the form of…

8 Ways to Transition your Fave Dress from Summer to Fall

816 1056 NEVER SKIP BRUNCH by Cara Newhart

time to transition It's time to break out those transition looks and start working our wardrobe from summer styles to fall fashion. We've talked transition looks before — they are seriously one of my favorite things to style since it requires a perfect blend of functional & fabulous to create an outfit that can be easily worn in warm temps and seamlessly transitioned to cool weather. While the two piece set is my favorite transition look this year, if I had to choose the most versatile transition piece — the dress would win hands down. It's the perfect place to start if you have no idea how to build a transition look and find yourself throwing on a hodge podge of things that are functional, but not totally chic.   What is a transition look? Is it cold, is it hot — what season is this? Transition looks are for those awkward times between seasons when the weather is all over the place and you aren't quite sure what to wear. Maybe you need to bundle up for the chilly morning and then by the time the afternoon rolls around you feel overheated. Transition outfits aim to solve this daily temperature fluctuation with…

Clothes that Empower — 10 Questions for Finding your Personal Style

816 1056 NEVER SKIP BRUNCH by Cara Newhart

Fashion says "me too," style says "only me" How do you find your personal style? Defining your style is important because it allows you to communicate who you are to the world, just by what you choose to put on. A defined personal style lets you express yourself to others in a more-dimensional way since your style "introduces you before you even speak." But how do you define your style? It sounds so simple at first, but something as complex and beautiful as style can be hard to put words to — and even harder to dig in an define for yourself. Last week I wrote a post, Style Yourself Happy: How to use clothing to boost your mood — and you LOVED it. We examined the effect our clothing has on our confidence, mood, and even health, and even dove into some of the science that supports that. After that post, I got so many requests to do something similar and talk about how to define your personal style, so that is what we are here for today. Find your personal style Before I share my advice for finding and defining your style, we first have to talk about what personal style is not. It's not a limitation —…

Style Yourself Happy: How to use clothing to boost your mood

816 1056 NEVER SKIP BRUNCH by Cara Newhart

Can you dress yourself happy? Style is absolutely a tool for empowerment and today we're diving into how your clothing choices can affect your mood and why you should be intentional about them. Now, I'm a huge proponent of the idea that happiness is a choice and I don't believe that the material fact of the correct clothing is all it takes to make you happy, but there is something powerful about clothing choices when it comes to how we feel and view ourselves — and it's something we can all benefit from tapping into. I've been honored to be able to inspire so many women to be bolder with their style and find confidence through what they choose to wear. I've used colors and prints as my catalyst for empowerment through style, but there is a much deeper phenomenon going on when it comes to how the clothes we choose to wear affect our moods, overall confidence, and even health. Quite literally dressed for success Did you know that 96% of women in one study believed that what they wear affects how confident they feel? (source) It's not that hard to understand why: our clothing is the physical way we choose to…

Vegas Retail Therapy at Downtown Summerlin

816 1056 NEVER SKIP BRUNCH by Cara Newhart

Downtown Summerlin shopping Vegas boasts some of the best shopping venues in the US, but not all the prime shopping destinations are located on the strip. I popped into Downtown Summerlin for a little retail therapy — and to find an adorable outfit — before our weekend out in Vegas. The area is absolutely gorgeous, with sidewalks to stroll, a great roundup of shops, and plenty of options to grab a little treat. They have just about all of my favorite stores — plus a few new ones which don't have a Denver location that I got to explore.   A few tips for a successful Vegas shopping trip 1 GO FOR THE WOW PIECE If there's any place that can push you out of your comfort zone and into something more exciting, it's Vegas. Don't be afraid to try new pieces that you might not normally think would work. Look for your "wow" piece — that piece that makes you feel gorgeous, fits perfectly, and is maybe a little unique or a little more bold than your usual go-to style. 2 KEEP IT COOL Vegas offers some serious sunshine which means you'll probably be looking for pieces that keep you cool or offer some great sun protection —…

Two-Piece Transition: Sets to Take Your Style from Summer to Fall

816 1056 NEVER SKIP BRUNCH by Cara Newhart

two-piece matching sets  Say hello to your new favorite fall trend. Two-piece sets are super in — and it's easy to see why. You can show just a little skin via a style that keeps it classy and effortless. I'm so obsessed with this look since its an elevated take on a flowy summer floral maxi or swooshing jumpsuit. They make a perfect transition piece because you can easily layer over them and most of the bottoms are longer for a little more warmth. ❝ Fresh and flirty, two-piece sets are a polished look that keeps it fun.❞ The other perk about this trend is that you get two pieces that you can not only wear together, but mix and match with other faves in your closet to create at least three outfits from one. This makes it even easier to transition them from summer into fall as you change out the pieces your matching and mixing into the set. How to wear your new favorite trend This trend is pretty straightforward since the pieces come pre-matched and are designed to go together, but I do have some tips for choosing the set that's perfect for you. The big key is to pick something that flatters…

816 1056 NEVER SKIP BRUNCH by Cara Newhart

T he Nordstrom Anniversary sale is one of my favorite parts about summer. If you don't understand what all the hype is about, hop over here for Everything You Need to Know About the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. If you're a seasoned shopper, then stay right here because I'm sharing my first look and some of my favorite picks. This is my short list of must-haves: 1. Cluster Drop Stone Earrings - J.Crew  These statement earrings just look like a party. I love the confetti-like vibe that still feels sophisticated. They come in this peach color, a blue color, and mixed hues for an extra fun rainbow feel. I'm really loving the rectangle center stones surrounded by the assortment of jewels which add texture and sparkle. 2. Ruched Waist Midi Dress - Maggy London Black-based florals can't help but feel effortless and elegant. Everything You Need to Know About the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

816 1056 NEVER SKIP BRUNCH by Cara Newhart

I t's almost time for the most important sale of the summer. If you don't know what I'm talking about, let me introduce you. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is so close - it starts July 12th! Why is this the only sale you should care about right now? Because it's oh so wonderful and instead of flipping through racks of picked-over pieces that are about to be out of season (aka left over summer styles) this sale is all about stocking up on some amazing fall pieces that are just now hitting stores.   Usually retailers put things on sale because they are going out of season or they haven't sold well. This is why sale racks usually don't have the good stuff. But this sale is different. This time they're putting merchandise that is just hitting racks on sale first, then raising the price back to normal once the sale is over. Psst...I'm hosting a $500 Nordstrom gift card giveaway that starts on July 11th and goes until the 17th - so if its then hop over to Instagram to find out how to enter. It will be on my feed and in my highlights. HOW TO GET EARLY…

816 1056 NEVER SKIP BRUNCH by Cara Newhart

Red wine...and blue It's almost time to get all patriotic and rock some bold primaries in honor of America. The 4th is one of my favorite holidays - maybe it's the late summer nights with good food and lots of light or maybe it's fond memories of throwing our annual 4th of July bash and lighting off fireworks growing up, either way I'm excited as always. Today I'm bringing you my 4th of July look alongside some of my favorite wine accessories since drinking ice cold white wine while watching fireworks is my other favorite part of the 4th. You guys know I'm a huge wino - especially if you've watched my Instagram stories - so here are some of my wine faves then I'll tell you all about this outfit (or your can SHOP IT now if that's all you're here for). Wine-sipping outdoors is probably my favorite summer activity, so you bet I'll have an ice cold glass of white wine in hand when the fireworks begin. I love all things wine, so I have a fairly extensive collection of wine accessories but here are a few of my wine glass and accessory essentials when it comes to…

My Hawaii Wedding // Part 1: The Attire

816 1056 NEVER SKIP BRUNCH by Cara Newhart

Spring Hawaii Wedding I'm finally sharing my Hawaii wedding! Since there are so many details to cover and so many beautiful images to share, I'm breaking this up into a three part series — Part I: The Attire // Part II: The Venue // Part III: The Decor. In part 1, we're talking all about the attire, let's dive in and see what everyone was wearing. The Bridesmaids We'll talk more about the style when we get to the venue & decor, but while we had a beautiful Oahu setting, we didn't want our wedding to feel too tropical. It was beach-inspired, but we went light on the tropical elements. Our ceremony was initially planned for the beach, but we went a little more traditional with floor-length gowns in pinky-coral tones. I wanted the girls to be able to choose a fit that they felt comfortable in, and not be stick with just one color choice. I love the look we achieved by having everyone coordinate while still letting some of their personality and style show through. The variety made for gorgeous photos and a laid back but elegant feel. The color choices were a darker pink poppy and a…
