new york Rooftop views at monarch
New York City boasts some pretty stunning rooftop venues. An evening out on a rooftop terrace with a drink in hand is a must when you’re in the city and the weather is nice. I lived in NYC for a bit, and my favorite rooftops quickly became ones that offered up-close views of some of the most iconic buildings in the NYC skyline — if you’re going to do a rooftop outing, might as well do it right.
While in NYC for fashion week, I got the chance to meetup for drinks at Monarch Rooftop with some other amazing influencers and the experience was incredible. We were given our own space right on the edge of the terrace with a perfect view of the Empire State building which was lit up in red, white, and blue in honor of Sept. 11th.
I totally recommend snagging a reservation if you plan to stop by — the whole venue is gorgeous, but being right on the edge made the view even more breathtaking.
great food & great friendsThis venue is seriously gorgeous! It was the perfect place to spend an evening hanging out with some great blogger friends and making some new ones. We were served some perfect bottles of bubbly and wine and the waitstaff was amazingly attentive. The food was also very delicious, with the Roasted Beet Hummus standing out as a favorite.
This was the perfect place to connect with some amazing girls. Female friendships are seriously so important — having a group of women who are ready and willing to support each other is amazing and there is nothing like the power of women coming together and truly living out the #CommunityOverCompetition mindset. This is even more essential in the world of entrepreneurship, since having a tribe to support you means you’re not going at it alone.
It was so empowering to hear all the uplifting conversations that happened as new friendships were forming and old ones were recconecting. It wasn’t all serious though — there was plenty of dancing (the music set was on point!) and snapping some photos to document the evening for posterity.
My sweet friend Jasmine wore an adorable animal print dress to coordinate with my outfit since it was my first time rocking full leopard print…definitely had to just google that to make sure it wasn’t cheetah. ? Shown below with our almost-fierce — but not because we’re laughing — pose.
You guys probably saw this top on my IG stories, but I snagged it form the Now & Zen PR showroom and was instantly in love. With all my affinity for prints, I’ve actually never loved animal print until I found this top and it immediately changed my mind.
