I'm showing you how to make mini bouquets for V-Day with some super cute patterns that I drew and turned into templates (for you, for free!)

This DIY is a great way to snag one bouquet and create multiple mini's to give out.

Sending Flowers & Love

Did you know? The language of flowers is called "Floriography" and that's where what locked in the rose as the flower of romance and love (more here). "Red roses have stood the test of time across cultures, representing ideals of beauty, love, romance, and even politics."

Each rose traditionally had a different meaning: red for love, pink for appreciation and grace, yellow for friendship and white for innocence. Whether you're sending love to your hubs, boyfriend, girlfriend, mom or even yourself, roses are a timeless and obvious choice.

Here's a little how to for making some adorable mini bouquets:

THE HOW TO:

1. Print the template + Make a cone

I hand drew these templates just for you so your mini's could have a polished but authentic look. The black and white is our fave, but if you want to get crazy you could print them on light pink or even color them in yourself. You can either roll the paper to form a cone and tape it in place, but if its been a while since your elementary craft days, you can check the video above for a easy cone tutorial. If you're following the cone tutorial, use printer paper not cardstock.

2. Measure and trim flowers

Measure some flowers using the long / tall side of the cone and some using the shorter side. This will help your bouquet fit the cone well and also stagger the height of the flowers to add interest. About 3 large flowers and 2-3 fillers like greens or baby's breath are a good recipe for a gorgeous mini bouquet.

3. Place and arrange flowers

The one basic rule for flower arrangements: the same kinds of flowers shouldn't touch. Use greens or little blooms like baby's breath between denser or brighter flowers like roses to add variety. Try mixing and matching til you get it just right.

Optional: Tie with a string bow

Use brown twine for an earthy feel, or opt for a light pink ribbon for a more elegant look.
