Instructions

STEP 01: Measure & Cut

Small Game BoardMeasure and mark a 3.5 in. square from the ¼” thick poplar board. Cut along the marked line using a mitre box.

Measure and mark ten (10) 1” squares from the paint sticks. Cut each piece using the mitre box.

Large Game BoardMeasure and mark a 5.5 in. square from the 1 in. x 6 in. common board. Cut along the marked line using a mitre box.

Measure and mark ten (10) 1.5” squares from the 1 in. x 2 in. common board. Cut each piece using the mitre box.

STEP 02: Check the fit

Small Game Board

The smaller 1 in. square pieces should fit on top of the larger 3.5 in. square board in three rows of three with one piece left over.

Large Game Board

The smaller 1.5 in. square pieces should fit on top of the larger 5.5 in. square board in three rows of three with one piece left over.

STEP 03: Print the template

Print out the game piece template on the next page.

Note: You can skip this step if you choose not to have a guide for painting your game pieces

STEP 04: Cut out the template

Cut out the X and O boxes on the dotted lines so that you have 5 of each. The smaller boxes on the template fit the width of the paint sticks and the larger boxes fit the 1 in. X 2 in. board.

STEP 05: Glue the template to the game pieces

Apply wood glue to the small square game pieces using the foam sponge brushes and glue on the paper squares cut from the template. Set aside to dry.

STEP 06: Paint and Decorate the game board

Paint and decorate the large square game board using the paint markers or acrylic paints. Draw on tic tac toe lines by dividing the board into thirds and drawing two horizontal and two vertical lines. Set aside to dry.STEP 07: Paint and Decorate the game pieces

Once the glue is dry, paint and decorate the game pieces as desired using the paint markers or acrylic paints and a paintbrush. Let dry.

STEP 08: Secure velcro to the game pieces and board

Stick the loop and hook velcro strips together and cut each strip into five (5) smaller squares. Peel back the sticker backing and stick the hook side on the back of each game piece. Press to secure.

Then peel back the backing on each loop velcro square and stick 9 game pieces down onto the game board in three rows of three. Press to secure.

Peel back the backing on each loop velcro square and stick the 10th game piece to the back of the board. This will help the piece not get lost when you take the game to-go.
