My pick for a classic holiday dress look is this lace dress. I really like the lace pattern and the fact that it's long sleeved.
I love how the lace is over white so that you can really see the detail, compared to a lot of black lace dresses that just layer black on black.

The black and white is more interesting than just a classic little black dress, but still looks sleek and sophisticated.
If you don't love a bunch of sparkle, and red and green isn't really your color, this look is perfect for you. The fit is also amazing - it looks really tailored, but it still feels super comfy to wear.

This dress looks amazing with red lips as an accent. A pair of metallic heels or a red peacoat would be perfect adds if you want to add just a little more interest or festive-ness to this look. You can get this exact lace dress is from Stitch Boutique of Denver, but I've linked some similar looks below for you out-of-towners.
P.S. This is part 4 in my holiday party look series. You can catch part 1 here - a twist on the little black dress - part 2 here - skip the dress, rock leather and part 3 here - keeping it casual.
